Design Inspiration
This teapot, named “Daylilies and Warblers”, takes inspiration from the classical gardens of the East, featuring the winding paths and corridors of the Jiangnan region of China on its circular body. The daylilies(萱草) represented in its design are also known as “forget-me-nots.” Flowers have always been an important source of inspiration, with the fragrant aroma of blossoms and birdsong adorning the branches, creating a romantic and picturesque ambiance. The teapot’s beautiful and elegant colors and design add a touch of warmth and happiness to autumn days.

Daylily yellow is a hue that sits between yellow and orange, basking in the warmth of healing tones. With a relaxed and inviting presence, warm colors evoke a tranquil and poetic Eastern aesthetic. The soft, warm yellow hue is reminiscent of the resolute and enduring nature of plants that thrive in cold climates, yet seek the warmth of the sun. To balance the warmth, cool colors are carefully chosen.Daylily yellow is a hue that beckons birds to return home, as the sun sets and the forest is bathed in a rosy glow. In a painting, two birds are depicted; one perched upon a branch, the other gracefully soaring through the luminous rays of the setting sun, perfectly embodying the theme of warmth and serenity.

Design Source
The design source draws inspiration from a Chinese ink painting of Xuancao, reflecting the warm theme of birds returning to the forest and people yearning for home. Its brushstrokes, fluid and delicate, evoke a sense of tranquility and serenity. The painting captures the essence of warmth, and the design draws from this inspiration to create a space that embraces the beauty of nature and the comfort of home.

Craft Characteristics
The spout has a graceful curve, and the sound of pouring water is like a beautiful melody.

The details in the ink painting are clear and refined, with delicate colors that bring out the subtle nuances of the image. The intricate details are layered and nuanced, adding depth and dimension to the artwork.

The tea pot is slender and elegant, reminiscent of an Oriental woman in a qipao dress. The waist is designed with dignity, and the handle is placed in a way that prevents the hand from being scalded while pouring tea. The overall design exudes a refined and graceful charm.

Positive Symbolism
Flowers often carry positive symbolism and are a symbol of abundance. In Chinese culture, Xuancao, also known as “Forget Worry Grass,” represents good fortune and the ability to dispel worries and troubles. It is also known as “Yi Nan Cao,” which conveys the wish for one’s children and grandchildren to thrive. During the Tang and Song dynasties, Xuancao became associated with motherhood and has since been known as the “mother flower” in China. Xuancao is a symbol of maternal love, which is eternal and irreplaceable, and remains a timeless theme in human culture.
