This is a variation of the Fully Hand Painted 90ml Bao Xiang Wo Zu Tea Cup.
The Wo Zu cup design, popular during the Ming and Qing dynasties, is distinguished by its base, which lacks a typical foot ring and instead features a recessed bottom that gives it its name. The design is both graceful and practical, embodying the essence of traditional Chinese tea culture.
This exquisite cup draws inspiration from the rich history of Chinese ceramics, specifically the era when Sanskrit motifs began to flourish in porcelain art. Starting from the Xuande period of the Ming dynasty (明宣德时期), Sanskrit inscriptions were first introduced on monk’s cap ewers and stemmed bowls. By the Chenghua period (成化时期), these elegant motifs became even more popular and were frequently featured on bowls, cups, and other refined porcelain items.
