This tea set works well. The brewing vessel drains reasonably quickly, and not much tea remains in it after decanting. The case is very sleek, and the set fits inside well. The pot has a volume of about 150ml, and the included cups can comfortably contain 60ml and 35ml.
The finish on the outside of the vessel is very rough. This roughness made the lid scrape quite unpleasantly against the pot. I used some polishing compound to grind it against the pot, and now it sits flat and smoothly.
The rough finish also interferes with the pour. The tea stream is turbulent right after leaving the spout, so care must be taken not to spill any. I will attempt to polish the spout smooth somehow, but I haven’t yet figured out how.
The clay handles on my pot were attached slightly forward from the middle of the circumference, making holding it a little uncomfortable.
I was under the impresion that the larger cup could contain the volume of the vessel, functioning as a fairness cup. As outlined in the beginning, it does not. I use a separate cup for that.
Overall, I consider this pot to be about the right quality for its price. If I manage to fix the rough spout, it will be my choice for a travel set.
